The importance of a safe wash cannot be underestimated on any treatment. From a preservation valet right through to paint correction and 5 year ceramic coatings. These can essentially be broken down in a citrus pre-wash and snow foam, which are a chemical treatmens. And, agitation with brushes before various wash mitts are used which are a physical treatment.
I prefer to administer both a citrus pre-wash and a snow foam as they both have their positives and combined it will give me the cleanest canvas before a wash mitt or a brush even touches the paintwork on your car or bike.
If any of these steps are missed there is a risk to potentially damaging the paintwork.
These are designed to help soften and breakdown dirt and grime which has become embedded into your car or bike paintwork, glass or trims. These usually have a blend of deep cleaning detergents which are infused with Citrus Oil to give to them that added "bite".
These chemicals play a crucial role in removing a significant amount of dirt and grime before a wash mitt even touches your paintwork. The chemicals I use are wax and lsp safe which means they won't harm or degrade existing polishes, waxes or coatings.
There are many formulations but I always use pH neutral to ensure I don't degrade any pre-existing coatings. The snow foam I use is also biodegradable and contains a blend of detergents, wetting agents and foamers to further help remove and and debris. This step also helps to remove any light dust, fingerprints and light dirt.
Dirt and debris is encapsulated within the foam and as this runs down the panels helps to remove it from the car or bike.
This process is designed to help target any hard to reach areas around badges, trim pieces and window frame. Designed to lift away dirt and grime around these ares in safe manner.
This process is quite an important one as it helps remove dirt that a wash mitt cannot reach. If this dirt and grime isn't removed it can cause further issues when applying finishing products and can also cause dirt to drop into pads when machine polishing and paint correcting.
I utilise an array of brushes with various bristle strengths designed for different areas from hard, medium, soft and ultra soft.
Can now take place after treating your paintwork to a citrus pre-wash, snow foam, agitation and rinse.
Although the above steps will not remove 100% of the dirt, they will have removed as much as is chemically and mechanically possible without the use of wash mitts in a contact wash.
Whilst performing all of these stages I will minimise the risk of potential swirling to keep your paintwork in top condition for longer.
If you have any questions on the finishing product for your car or bike feel free to ask me any questions.
